I have been a member of South of the River Potters’ Club since the early days in East Fremantle. For a long time I have concentrated on aesthetically pleasing functional pots, constantly challenged to find the right balance between the aesthetics and the functionality. The jug that doesn’t drip and the teapot that pours cleanly are every potter’s betes noir. In recent years I have concentrated on raku fired work decorated with with horsehair, feathers and iron lustre. In 2018 I spent 5 weeks in Rome undertaking a residency at the C.R.E.T.A. ceramics school and studio which has led me towards an entirely new aesthetic and my current work which is decorated with crackle glazes and striking black and white geometric designs.A selection of my pots can be found for sale at the Mundaring Arts Centre in the Perth hills.
